Lisa Rosenthal is a writing coach, writing workshop leader, and writing group facilitator. She specializes in:
-- Helping young-career writers realize their unique voice,
-- Working one-on-one with more experienced writers as a writing coach, and
-- Creating workshops to address the unique needs and interests of participants.
Lisa worked as a developmental editor at Chicago Review Press (CRP) for almost 12 years, and helped to bring more than 100 manuscripts to bookstore shelves--both adult and children’s nonfiction titles. Lisa continues to work with CRP on a freelance basis. She is also an author, and therefore attuned to the needs and interests of authors. She is the author of A Dog’s Best Friend—using the skills she honed working with children’s book authors—and is the editor of The Writing Group Book: Creating and Sustaining a Successful Writing Group, featuring more than 30 essays by writers in all genres and at every level of experience. Lisa was inspired to create this book after experiencing the benefits in her own writing group.
Lisa is a nationally produced and award-winning playwright with plays produced in Chicago and New York City, and in the states of California, Michigan, West Virginia, Indiana, and Ohio. She is a resident playwright at Chicago Dramatists.
